Cool! This is exactly the kind of info we need to collect and store on a
linux laptop site.
Back to the Desktop world, I just recently switched my ATI Radeon 9550
into my daughter's machine, which had an ATI Radeon 9550. Linux seems to
like the 9000, but not the 9550. One distro misidentified the 9550 as a
9600 and another accepted it, but claimed that there was no 3-D
acceleration. Note that there may be some differences between XFree86
and Xorg servers, as well as versions and patches added. But I have no
trouble with the 9000. Both are AGP cards.
