I've used dirvish in the past (before the presentation).
Dirvish has one great feature I haven't seen the other backup systems
have (including BackupPC (which is close).
With dirvish, you can specify the length of the backup to be kept in a very flexible way.
For example, you could say:
Keep a single backup each day of the week.
Keep one backup per week for the following onth.
Keep one backup per month for the next 6 months.
Keep one backup per every 6 months for the next 2 years
Keep one backup per year forever.
That kind of scheduling makes dirvish great for storing backups
effectively and doing long term data archiving.
