Arun, I got your reply, but I don't think it went out to the list, unless I 
missed it. So here it is for the archives...

Sure Larry,
  This is what I did. Opened a command prompt or you can go to one of the 
tty's ctrl+alt+F<1-6> and then type, X :1 -query <hostIP>. Thats it. It will 
open a new X session under ctrl+alt+F2. You can login and switch using the 
ctrl+alt+..shortcut keys. 

  One thing is that I saw that port 6001 was being used and even after opening 
it, unless I shutdown my firewall i am unable to get the display up and 
running.

For some reason xhost +<ip> and ssh -X -f commands didnt work. :(
