[Dclug] Did I pay MS tax on Ubuntu?

The recent discussions on the MS tax got me to thinking...

I recently bought a laptop from Dell with Ubuntu preloaded. There is no
MS sticker on the PC. The price for this laptop was the same whether I
ordered it with Windows or Ubuntu, so I didn't save any money
personally. That does not bother me in particular. But I had this
unpleasant thought...does Dell have an exclusivity deal with MS that
requires Dell to pay MS a fee for each new PC Dell sells, whether or not
it has Windows on it?
