The funnier thing is that the clocks in most computers are actually
pretty crappy. A $5 wristwatch may well keep better time than your
computer does.
As I always point out, the wristwatch has the benefit of a
well-regulated constant-temperature environment (your wrist). Unless
sick, human body temperature is well within 0.5 degrees Celcius,
whereas a typical crystal might have a temperature coefficient of 20
ppm/C, which gives around 2 seconds per day per degree C. A typical
computer's internal temperature might vary by 10 degrees, so few
minutes per week error is not out the question
