Assembled wisdom(s),
I live in a 1,600 family housing cooperative in Maryland, and we have been
looking at updating our website, perhaps using Joomla!. We have several
people well versed in HTML, CGI, website maintenance, etc, as well as
graphics experts. We have *one* person who pushed Joomla! as the be-
all and end-all for our website, but has dropped out of sight (and out of
site).
My question is, would Joomla! lead us down the path of depending on
somebody having extensive skill in a specific topic such that we would
be in the lurch if that person left until another person spends a bunch of
days/weeks learning Joomla!? I have no idea yet of how long a learning
curve is for this, nor do I see that we actually NEED this package at
all.
Note: we do not own the website, and "somebody else" would deal with
installation and maintenance of Joomla! and related packages. So the
learning and skills I refer to are those of a user only.
Regards,
Ed James
