Good question. Ideally, I'd like a terminal(aka terminal SW)
to simply "do it right": e.g. display Arabic, Hebrew, Malayalam,
Coptic, etc, plus Euro signs, (English) pound signs, diacritical
marks of all kinds, correctly on my screen -- while e.g. using
mutt -- without further fuss on my part. I'd also like a
unified and comprehensible<g> way of writing such.

I am a long long way from that. I am certainly aware that there have
to be a lot of fonts available to my terminal SW, and that is
just one part of the problem. [ Does anyone really comprehend
all facets of the problem/issue of computer fonts? is any
document available which discusses such? ]

And, additionally, I'd like such capabilities to be installed
on any computer system that I may log into, such as gmail, or
	our beloved tux computers, etc.

My original problem was: simply to get a work-around so that
I could at least _see_ if I had any mail on gwyn.

If I am beknighted, take pity and lead me to the straight and narrow. Please.

Best wishes, and looking forward to forthcoming illumination.

Alan
