Yum *used to* order downloaded packages by *size*...
(that is true, hackers, that is true)

...but now it just downloads them by name.
(that's not good, hackers, that's not good)

Why the change? I would rather get as many packages as I can before I give up because our bandwidth $uck$ at work.

Yes, I know I haven't really saved anything; I still have as much work to do either way, but when ordering by size, I can update more packages that way.

And often, it's the smaller ones that are used more often.

So if yer gonna change things, how about putting a variable in to keep the old behavior?

And while I'm kvetching, what happened to the "speedometer" in text mode? You know, the Size/Packages/Percent vs Total/Elapsed/Remaining Time matrix?

Yes, I know it's only an estimate, and it's not even always linear or accurate, but at least it gives us SOME idea of how long a coffee break (or if we're lucky, a nooner) we can take?

Y'all got tin foil in those hats, or what?

JIM
