I trust Amarok 1.4.x to manage my mp3 collection and manage my podcasts.
It's not super powerful or perfect, but it does a very satisfactory job
-- and I can be a little demanding.

I have about 30-40 podcasts installed and trust that it'll handle
downloading and organizing them well. Occasionally I have to give it a
little "Refresh Podcasts" push and it'll sync up all of them and
download anything new.

One thing it doesn't do, so I wrote scripts to handle it, is fix
podcasts empty or inconsistent mp3 tags. My scripts change tag
information on a per podcast basis and that's proven to be a significant
improvement in my overall experience.

I am watching the development of Amarok2 which I understand is a
significant re-write of Amarok. It looks good, but it is different, and
some features are still being worked out, so I am stepping back for a
bit longer while they continue to develop it.
