"If I'm not doing anything wrong, then it doesn't matter," isn't a
particularly strong argument.  Saying nothing is often taken to mean
'yes' and not 'no'.

Yes.  CALEA-compliant wiretapping has been abused in the past and
there is little preventing it from happening again in the future
because there isn't much oversight.  Since the first articles about
CALEA monitoring being abused were published, statistics about the
phenomenon are mysteriously no longer published.
