I got only one copy of this; should have gotten two. So I am
forwarding this to the FOSE list, just in case everyone didn't
get to see this. Certainly you should all be aware of this,
just so that you can be aware of how David C's mind works.
Best wishes,
Alan

Yes your "impeach him" button was pinned to your shirt completely
covered by your FOSE badge. Though I did notice you had no problem
easily flipping up your FOSE badge to show your button to other Tux.org
volunteers and can only hope you did not repeat this little trick to
anyone else.
I was not at the show for the rest of the day, so do not know how you
handled it. My fear is that the temptation was to great to show it off
to what you perceived as a friendly audience, or that if someone noticed
something was pinned under your badge that an inquiry about what that
was would lead to a quick flip of the badge. Regardless, the temptation
should not be there, and that button should have stayed in your bag or
at home, not pinned to your shirt even if the FOSE badge obstructed the
view.
I'm very sorry if you just don't get this, but it's not appropriate and
could cause us grief in the long term. It just takes one Government
employee who has some weight to be offended by this to complain to the
show organizers. This is our first year with these new organizers and
they took a great leap of faith donating the booth and badge scanner to
us. That one persons complaint could lead to us getting kicked out of
future shows. That would not help the OpenSource cause.
That is why it was brought up in the message to you.
Sincerely,
David
