[FOSE] Can I participate?

Dear LUG Colleagues:

In past years I have not offered to participate in the FOSE booth
primarily because FOSE has usually taken place during the same week as
the planet's primary disability technology conference out in Los Angeles
which I generally attend. There is no such conflict this year, and I
would like to offer my participation as a living, breathing, exclusively
Linux using example of Sec. 508 (http://section508.gov). Would that
work? Whatdo you think?

What I Can Bring:

*	Myself. I use the console and gui daily. My business card says
*	"Chair, Open A11y Work Group, Linux Foundation." I would boot my
*	laptop into a fully updated Fedora 8 which I use with synthetic
*	speech output.

*	My knowledge of what works and what doesn't in our
*	environment--and who's working on what aspect of a11y in Linux.

*	My experience vis a vis Section 508--I was part of the first
*	Federal Advisory Committee, preceeding the first regulations
*	implementing Sec. 508; and will be drafting the Linux
*	Foundation's comments on the forthcoming NPRM ahead of a refresh
*	of the Sec.  508 regs.

My Requirements 


*	A place to plug in--laptop, powered speaker, probably a usb 104
*	keyboard. I will also bring a totaly cool, Linux-based blind
*	person PDA (see http://levelstar.com).

*	Assistance getting in and out of the hall--I can get myself to
*	the door, but navigation through a major conference facility is
*	a major challenge for most blind people. It certainly is for me.
*	My suggestion is to exchange cell phone numbers with a few folks
*	to help mediate this.
