Flier Design

OK, #2 on my agenda of list spam for this evening is the design of a
flier for publicizing the group and meetings. Jared apparently has an
artistically-inclined spouse. (Mine sews, so unless we want to post a
quilt, she's off the hook.) Here were a couple thoughts I had. I tried
to mock something up in Inkscape and realized I suck at digital art. I
used to be able to sketch pretty well but I fear I may suck at that now
too. So:

Fredericksburg has historically been associated with the pear (the
Bradford pear trees, y'know). If you look at Tux the penguin, you'll
see his body shape bears a truly uncanny resemblance to... that's right,
a PEAR! So, I thought to myself, why not have Tux the penguin in a
"pear suit"? You know, like a Halloween costume. We could have it say
"FredLUG" on the front like a hoodie or something.

I was in mind of the Halloween costume my wife made for my daughter when
she was about 7 months old, her first Halloween:

So, please feel free to suggest other ideas. Jared, what's your wife
think about putting something together before the 19th, if we can get
the final idea settled on in a few days?
