Did that. Strangely the setting impacted the X rendering. But we never
got a solution that worked.

Good to know. I didn't know that one. I looked for xorg.conf in /etc/X11
as usual, but it's (of course) not there on the live CD.

Right. I think liveUSB boots at lot faster too. Hopefully Alan will have
more luck using that instead of the CD.
