For future reference if this happens to you...make sure Nautilus isn't
trying to open an iPod with Firefox. When I changed the setting to
Rhythmbox and remounted everything started working normally. The real
question is how if got set that way in the first place.

I have a fresh install of Ubuntu 9.04. 9.10 killed suspend / resume on
my laptop so i went back to what works. As long as I've used Ubuntu, my
iPod has just worked. Plug it in, it shows up in Nautilus and Rhythmbox.
Until today.
The Ipod is mounting when I plug it in. It's there at /media/IPOD and I
can browse the directories. However, it doesn't show up on my desktop
like it should, or as a mounted drive in Nautilus. I've tried both
Rhythmbox and Songbird, neither seems to know that the iPod is plugged
in. Gtkpod can see it, but I hate that interface and really don't want
to use it.
I'm assuming this is a Gnome / Nautilus issue...any ideas how to fix it?
