Three points:
1. Charlie is on linux-pe and his messages are coming through
loud and clear.
2. I, Alan McConnell, am the _administrator_, the guy who makes
sure the list is running smoothly. I am _not_ the Boss, the
Leader, the Chief Poster, or whatever. Linux-pe is a _discussion_
E-list, and any member can use this forum for whatever (s)he
wishes(I suppose if we get into a discussion of the respective
attractions of Britney and Paris, something would have to be
done, but in many years of _adminning_, NOT "leading", I've never
had to take any steps because of member silliness).
3. After a quick read-thru of what Charlie is suggesting, I
personally think something of this kind is long overdue. There
is a big industry whose reason for being is to sweep up after
the M$ elephant. The country and the industry are suffering
because of "mono-culture" and what seem to me to be bad
practice.

I look forward to the discussion.
Best wishes to all,
Alan
