_Responsibilities_
* Represent Verdiem's technical capabilities to prospects;
proactively support customers in planning and running Computer
Energy Consumption Analysis programs and product evaluations; and
strive to ensure that customers keep to their stated evaluation
timeline.
* Travel to customer sites on an as-needed basis, for the purposes
of serving as a technical resource to sales staff; provide
presentation of technical material to prospects; for supporting
prospects in deployment of our product(s) for evaluation
* Maintain contact with customer IT system/network administrators
and/or the SURVEYOR project manager(s), answer technical questions
about product(s), and provide technical sales and customer product
training.
* Track status of customer Computer Energy Consumption Analysis
programs for sales account executives, proactively collect,
organize and analyze data collected during programs and provide
calculations for proposals.
* Advise customers on deployment techniques; funnel customer needs
and feedback product enhancements and feature requests to product
managers.
* Provide support for preparing technical responses to prospect
RFI/RFPs, FAQs, knowledge base and case support entries.
* Be a resource for assisting in the quality assurance of the
product by managing field testing engagements with beta customers,
and in-house testing of the product(s).
* Provide front-line support for customer/prospect issues, tracking
these issues in the CRM system and ensuring prompt follow up and
problem resolution.
_Qualifications_
* 8+ years experience in technical pre-sales engineering - selling
enterprise software solutions.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proven enterprise solution selling at C and VP levels of the
organization.
* Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical customers.
* Ability to diagnose problems over the phone and in person.
* Demonstrate excellent customer relation skills.
* Willingness to travel 50% or more.
* Knowledge of technical issues (e.g. Registry editing) with various
MS Windows Operating Systems, including Vista, Win XP, WinNT,
Win2k and Win9x.
* Knowledge of industry standard deployment/installation techniques
and technologies (e.g. login scripts, PC ghost imaging).
* Knowledge of IT concerns for maintaining and supporting enterprise
software distributed to every desktop.
* Technically self reliant (able to take software into a new
environment, perform complete installation, perform diagnostics,
answer customer's technical questions, record appropriate
information in CRM).
* Knowledge of industry standard desktop management and software
distribution tools (e.g. SMS, ZENworks, etc.).
* Practical networking skills with Wake-On-LAN (WOL) and TCP/IP
and/or Novell (including ping, name resolution, windows network
configuration, firewalls, etc.)
* LDAP (i.e. Active Directory, eDirectory, etc.) familiarity
* Familiarity with installing software and capable of diagnosis of
installation problems.
* Understanding of security issues with respect to enterprise-wide
installation/deployment.
* Strong MS-Access/SQL Server knowledge (e.g. Queries, data
analysis, reporting).
* Some data analysis and data mining skills.
