Good Morning,

 

I am looking for a software developer in VB.NET and/or C# with some
background in VB6.

Contract is 1 year starting toward the end of November. 

Pay rate is negotiable. 

 

The core of the work will be converting legacy VB6 systems to VB.NET. 

 

The scope of work is limited to software engineering related to the
migration of source code from VB6 to the appropriate .Net-based
programming language, including putting all modified software through
the appropriate processes and testing.

 

The Subcontractor is expected to work within an engineering team to
migrate the VB6 portion of the source code to a .Net-based programming
language (primarily VB.Net).  Subcontractor will have sufficient
experience working with Microsoft development tools and .Net programming
languages such that little guidance will be required.  The subcontractor
is also expected to have significant experience with both the VB6 and
.Net languages, and have participated in at least one similar language
migration project; preferable from VB6 to a .Net language, but
experience from another language to or from .Net would also suffice. 

 

The necessary activities are: 

 

*     Create design artifacts for the target .Net architecture

leveraging current design 

*     Utilize software tools that assist in the migration activity and

manually update the code where necessary 

*     Perform exhaustive unit and software integration (SWIT) testing
