Title: Senior Linux Systems Engineer

 

Job Description Summary:

Senior level engineering/management position to support the integration
of custom applications

in a linux environment for a fast growing profitable startup. You will
lead the integration team and 

that works with QA, Developers and Operations.

 

Responsibilities:

-              Create and maintain RPMs for custom and standard linux
applications

-              Design and integrate new system features on all servers

-              Assist operations in the development of new tools to
monitor and manage servers

-              Hands-on code development as needed

 

Required Experience:

-              10+ years as in a linux/unix environment as a developer
and/or administrator

-              10+ years experience with RPM, kickstart and YUM
repositories

-              10+ years Perl and shell script programming; C/C++ a plus

-              RHCSS or RHCE certifications a big plus

-              Knowledge of DNS, SSH/SCP, NTP, SNMP, Apache/HTTP, SMTP

 

 

Education: BS in EE or CS strongly preferred

Clearance: None required

Citizenship: US

Location: Sterling, VA

Full/Part/Contract: Full Time
