Actually I'm fairly comfortable with Bash, but my ability to catch 
potential problems isn't so good.  Especially, I don't want to make any 
dangerous mistakes when the script needs to be run at root.  The only 
other language I've done this kind of scripting in is python, and I'm 
sure I'd be just as bad at not catching my mistakes.
