   I've already dealt with material created by Microsoft Word.  Some of my
   colleagues send me Word generated documents that they want posted to our
   website.  You're right about it being ugly.  Fortunately I've gotten
   quite good at stripping out Word extensions, etc. from the OO HTML file.

Try http://textism.com/wordcleaner/. Also, OOffice makes much nicer HTML,
so you could read the .doc file into OOwriter and save as HTML from OO.
