Thanks for the pointer to wordcleaner.  I do use OOffice for reading
Microsoft documents and beginning the process of converting to HTML.
You would be surprised at how much junk my colleagues manage to put into
a simple Word document that still requires some hand editting.
Fortunately my position is only a very part time volunteer position now.
