Jay,
Do you currently have a system with at least 512mb of memory and a few
Gig of free disk space running either Linux or M$ XP?
If so then you can set up your own FreeBSD 6.2 Developement
environment. And you will not have to reinstall or change your disk
partition layout in any way.
How so you ask?
Go to <http://www.vmware.com/vmtn/appliances/directory/717> and download
the VmWare "FreeBSD 6.2, user install" 235mb zip-file containing a
VmWare image ready to run {almost} and also install VmWare-player into
your current OS.
Do follow and read the How To Setup and Configure links and also the
ones on how to install the VmWare-Tools within the virtual machine
itself.
But it real easy to get it going.
