[Ma-linux] Problem installing a RPM package in OpenSuse 10.3

Originally, using konqueror, I installed the 3.14.2 apcupsd rpm. The package
was really for Suse 10.2, but I figured it would work.
The "install" via Konqueror opened "Yast" (asked for root password), and
seemed to complete the install. I then went to modify the config file and the
/etc/apcupsd directory was not to be found. I rebooted box, just to make sure
I wasn't seeing a stale directory structure. But, upon reboot, no apcupsd
directory.
So, I then added a local directory site to software updates within Yast, and
then tried again to install the package, this time from within Yast.
The package shows up in software management as being available to install, so
I tell Yast to install, by right-clicking package and selecting "install". I
then click on the "next" button to start the install. As soon as I do this, I
get the following screen:
http://email.kevla.org/yast/snapshot1.jpg
if that doesn't work, try:
http://www.kevla.org/yast/snapshot1.jpg
And, the package will not install.
So, it looks like Yast thinks this package is already installed. So what od I
need to modify so Yast doesn't think package is installed, and I can run the
software management update????
TIA,
Jay Hart
