[Ma-linux] [Dclug] How to put a video into a web page?

Yes, I've posted before about this<g>.  But, sadly, received very
little cogent help from the folks here.  Which leads me to believe:
not many people here know very much about putting a video into
a web page.   

I've received advice that _doesn't_ work.  I've received the advice
to simply put my video on youtube; to which my response is: are we
children who must be dependent on cloud computing?

I have been making some progress "on my own"( = using lots of
google inquiries, and getting some very good counseling from the
FFmpeg E-list), and here's where I'm at:

I have used "<object= . . ." with some success.  I have also used
"<embed . . . " with equal success.

The video in question is at www.waifllc.org/kensington .  It runs
pretty well on my Firefox(oops!  Iceweasel.  Sorry, Debianists!).
Mackenzie Morgan, to whom I'm grateful for help and encouragement,
says that it works pretty well on Konqueror.   I have used FFmpeg
to convert the original .mpeg to a .avi file which is smaller and
which seems to be more easily accepted than the .flv format, which
some had recommended.

The play-pause button works, but the scroll bar underneath the
playing video doesn't work at the above web site, although it
works fine when I'm accessing the video on my home machine.

A couple of people, non-experts, have told me that the video does
not run on IE.

I'd be pleased if the Assembled Wisdom here could help to get
this video accessible from any visual browser(I don't expect it
to run on lynx!).  I am convinced that the problem is with my
html, where I am NOT an expert.  At the moment my source file is
rudimentary.  I don't give it here, since interested people can
press the View Source on their browser.
