That depends on what you're using it for and what hardware you're using it on. Do you need commercial support?

I used to run Debian unstable on my desktop, now use Ubuntu.
I use Debian stable for web, mail, file servers.
I use any distro that's pre-packaged as a vmware virtual machine with a specific function and use it as a virtual net appliance.
