Let me tell you about the 7th guest.

It was one of the first games to support General MIDI. For reasons I
can't remember, I blew $430 on a Roland Sound Canvas. When you plugged
it in and told it the port to use, it would always work. The driver was
foolproof. The app simply sent bits to port 0x330 and it worked, without
fail. Every game in my collection from between 1992 and 1995 works with
that device. Perfectly. Windows 3.11 can play MIDI music on it.

But then I had to upgrade to linux.

Linux has MIDI drivers too.

But they're much harder to use....

And you can get about half way through Ravell's Bolero and then THE
DRIVER CRASHES THE MACHINE... LINUX CAN'T PLAY A STUPID FUCKING MIDI
FILE WITHOUT CRASHING AND BURNING!!! IF LINUX WEREN'T A MACROKERNEL, IT
MIGHT BE POSSIBLE FOR THE USER TO FIX THE PROBLEM. BUT WHEN THE MACHINE
SIMPLY LOCKS UP, THERE IS LITTLE TO BE DONE.

YOU STUPID FUCKING LINUX ADVOCATES. YOU CAN'T TELL ME WORD FUCKING ONE
ABOUT DOS AND SOUND CARDS. DOS WALKS ALL OVER LINUX AN YOU SHITHEADS ARE
TOO DENSE TO NOTICE!!! I AM SO ENRAGED RIGHT NOW. HOW DARE YOU DISPARAGE
DOS. DOS HAS NOT FAILED ME ONCE, EVER. EVERY SINGLE PROBLEM I HAVE EVER
HAD WITH MY COMPUTER PRIOR TO INSTALLING LINUX COULD BE TRACED TO ONE OF
THREE THINGS, USER ERROR, WINDOWS 3.11, OR DYING HARDWARE. I'D STAKE MY
LIFE ON MY DOS MACHINE WITHOUT A SINGLE MISGIVING. If my life were tied
to my DOS machine, I'd outlive Methuselah ten times over.

People say DOS is not reliable, For me it is as constant as the speed of
light.
People say Linux is, I have yet to see it please me for an entire day.
