In the last week I have had two phone calls from political
"polling" groups with very sophisticated computer based dialog. At first
it sounds as if you are speaking to a real person although the affect
seems just a little bit flat. However when you ask if it is a computer
then you get a little giggle and an explaination of the sort that
the call is being "supervised by a real person". when you continue the
"conversation" certain keywords trigger the giggle again. i hung up on the
call when they finally explained that it was a survey about media content
based on traditional judeo-christain values> i did not want to get caught
as a statistic in one of those surveys with the loaded questions.
anyone have any insight into this new attempt at a Turing machine?
