google might be your friend. i googled
    boot grub logical partition
and got, e.g.,

  look at section 7.4.1.2. -- 7.4.1.3

if you do on-the-fly edits during booting grub, you might be able to 
test to see what parameters are needed.

Good luck. (The is not such thing as free grub, er, I mean lunch.)
