Ok, here's the deal. I installed slackware 11 on a machine. I want to set
up a home network. When I installed Linux the DHCP stuff works. The way
it's set up now is.

Cox Cable modem----------NetGear Router RJ45 1.---- Linux box
				 (wireless and RJ45)	RJ45 2.---- Windows box
								RJ45 3.---- Playstation 2 unit
								RJ45 4.---- empty
wireless connections --- second windows machine

I want to get a second network card for the linux box. but when I plug the
linux box with just he one NIC directly into the cox cable modem and do a
reboot I don't get an internet connection.

Cable mocem ------- linux eth0 (this doesn't work.

What my ultimate goal is to have something that looks like this.

Cable Modem -----------	linux box eth0
linux box eth1 ------- NetGear Router	RJ45 1. Windows box
							   (wireless and RJ45)	RJ45 2. Playstation 2 unit
											RJ45 3. empty
											RJ45 4. empty
											wireless --- windows machine #2

Anyway, the bottom line is has anyone had a problem with DHCP when going
directly into a cox/webstar cable modem before or am I just todays "lucky"
winner?

Thanks for your input.

David
