Yeah, I agree rdiff-backup is really nice. I used it through
backupninja[1] which is a nice and simple tool for configuring your
backup process. It has helper scripts for common things like database,
SVN, or Trac backups which aren't safe to backup live from the
filesystem. Once it's made a backup of those on the local filesystem it
can use rdiff-backup to store incremental backups on a remote system.
I also just saw Box Backup[2] which looks like it could be good for more
user-oriented rather than server-oriented backups. I'll have to look
into it more as an option for backing up documents from my personal
machines.
