[Novalug] PC Shops Rated

The most recent issue of Washington Consumers' Checkbook (Vol 14, No. 2,
Spring/Summer '07),

rated PC repair shops. These got high consumer ratings for both price and
quality (I list them here as a public service - only subscribers can
access reports on-line):

Boon PC Computer, Wisc. Ave, Bethesda
Computer Place, Fairfax and Gaithersburg
Creative Group - PC Warehouse, Jones Bridge Rd., Bethesda
Platinum Micro Electronics, Manasas

They also rated Computer Stores. Satisfaction scores were low; too many
were rated on the upper-end to list. Suffice it to say, the Computer Place
and Micro Center made the cut.

I recommend the Consumers' Checkbook - it's a Consumer-Reports-like
quarterly that rates local businesses and services. They also send out a
quarterly on where to buy popular electronics, appliances, etc., and
publish a restaurant guide w/ ratings. "Political statement:" by
subscribing one gets a good report and supports a worthy cause.
