[Novalug] Any Eye Candy for Linux? Also, Window transparency?

Is there any good eye candy for Linux (sort of like Apple's interface)?   KDE and GNOME's cursor icons are sort of animated, which is still very slow compared to Apples icons.  I haven't seen any application icon animation on Linux yet.  Please let me know if there is any eye candy package for Linux.

Is true window transparency available on any distro as a default install?  I am talking about cascaded window transparency.   Sometimes I want to see the performance output of the window in the background.  Currently I am only seeing the wallpaper in the current window background.
