Regarding the web developer having no idea of how big an
image or web page is...

If he works in one of the WYSIWYG type frameworks, I'm not
surprised.  The folks who still develop web pages with vi
or emacs are few and far (getting further) between.

I've claimed for years that in the fairly near future, most
folks will be computer programmers, but it won't be programming
as we know it today.

They'll be things like drag&drop web page programming, word macros,
TiVo favorites selections and stuff like that.

But, the guys who used to know the avg time for all the DEC Assembler
commands on each PDP-11 platform would barely call the stuff we do with
PHP, perl and Tcl programming either.  We come closer to writing
pseudo-code than actually pushing bits.
