[Novalug] yum problem

 	I've long been in the habit of updating my wife's machine 
downstairs over ssh. As on my own (hers and all of mine running 
Fedora 7), I do yum clean all, rpm --rebuilddb, updatedb, and 
finally yum update.

 	Suddenly I get screensful of messages from yum, saying of 
one package after another, " Insufficient space in download 
directory //var/cache/yum/updates/packages to download"

 	But I also see this :

[root at localhost updates]# cd
[root at localhost ~]# ls -l /var/cache/yum/updates/packages
total 0
[root at localhost ~]#

 	What has happened? What do I do about it?
