[Novalug] Odd Gnome launching message box

I've been getting this weird box popping up when I bring up Gnome:

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
    There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon.

    Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings
    may not work correctly.

    The last error message was:

    Failed to execute dbus-launch to autolaunch D-Bus session.

    GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time
    you log in.

Anyone seen and dealt with this before (implicitly asking wot u
did to fix it)?

Or, gratefully accepted would be various bits and pieces of info
as to what the various parts of the above messages mean.  Ie,
what "A" thing needs to be up and running for the "B" thing to
work, etc.  Tried a bit of Googling, but didn't find answers,
just questions.
