I figure there are three basic ways to learn HTML
1) You use something link Frontpage / Quanta (
http://quanta.kdewebdev.org/ )
2) You do your basic HTML ( as I do most of the time )
3) You develop rich web based apps like my web OS (
http://www.AstraNOS.org )
Version 3 is more like programming then web design but you get a huge
amount of freedom on what you want to do. I personally use
http://QooxDoo.org but you can also use any other toolset out there.
I am really excited BTW about the new features like built in SVG support
( or the Canvas tag ) which will be a cool open standards way to replace
falsh :)
