When I do:
  $  wajig whatis kate
it returns:
  kate                     Advanced text editor for kde

This suggest to me that a Google on:
  Fedora KDE kate

should point you to the correct package.

Note I do know that when I googled on 'kate' one of the first links was
a pointer to 'kate's homepage.
