Ask your bank for acceptable size checks for machine readable processing and ask if there is a preference on formatting the check routing and account numbers, are there particular "encoding symbols" required to identify the beginning and end of routing and account number fields? Machine readable checks may need to the routing and account fields within style, size and distance from the bottom of the check.
By asking the questions before you begin creating checks should lower or eliminate rejections and additional fees for "non-machinable checks."
Would like to report back to the list that which works?
