I just got back from Microcenter. They have a Lenovo 3000 laptop that they are 
practically giving away.

The snag is it only has 512 Meg of RAM and it's running (ptui) Vista. They've 
decided to cut their losses and unload them for $399.99. While I was mulling 
that over and considering it ought to run Linux just fine, the salesman 
mentioned the free printer....

My daughter is going to have a very good Christmas.
