[Novalug] WRT54G wireless keeps dropping connection, and loses key, no DNS.

They make these things as cheaply as possible - free software was not cheap enough for them because it required 4MB of memory, so they dropped the memory to 2MB and used different software. The V5s and V6s have got to cost them less than ten bucks to manufacture and are made cheaper than most of my kids toys. You probably have a bad unit, I would try to exchange it for a new one (or better yet an L :))

Well... I got a WRT54G, not the L version, since I didnt know it existed. Called Linksys, and they helped me hook it up with 128 bit encryption. It works, but loses connection when left unattended; no activity on the mouse/kbd.
I noticed, it loses the encryption key on the wireless end, and of course, when I try to bring up a MS IE on MS XP wireless, it says no DNS...
I have an older BEF whatever, Linksys, and it did the same thing until I updated the firmware. The first thing I did was update the WRT54G router's firmware when I connected it to internet over a wired connection.
Any ideas as to how to solve this?
As usual, and help is appreciated....
