right mouse click on desktop
select the radio button of your choice:
	"None," "Desktop menu bar" or "Current application's ment bar (Mac OS-style)"

This is a KDE thang not a SuSE thang.


I know you didn't ask but:

if you want to make the menu bar transparent your panel must also be 
transparent. 
right mouse click on *panel*
check "Enable transparency"
left mouse click "Advanced Options"
check "Also apply to panel with menu bar"
