[Novalug] tool for trimming mpegs?

MythBurn, or it's newer incarnation MythArchive, will do this if you provide a cut-list.  Newer versions will also automatically transcode the shows to fit, but that takes a lot longer.  Depending on how you installed MythTV, they may already be installed or you may have to go and get them.
