[Novalug] Rich's Alternative to iPhone

Rich,

as you may be aware, the Internet Tablet products from Nokia also can be 
configured with an SSH server.

One essential hardware difference between Nokia's Internet Tablet 
products and the Openmoko product is that the Openmoko hardware has a 
GSM quad band chipset whereas the Nokia Internet Tablets do not have 
either a GSM or CDMA chipset.  Perhaps the manufacturer of openmoko will 
eventually introduce a handset that uses CDMA but I think it is more 
likely that they will wait until WIMAX takes hold and then introduce a 
product that supports WIMAX mobile.

Interestingly it looks like the openmoko product team is relying on 
Nokia power/battery knowhow for the energy source for openmoko.

 I understand that Nokia is planning to introduce a future version of 
the Internet Tablet with WIMAX support. If it happens it will dovetail 
nicely with the recently introduced support (as of July 2007) in the 
Internet Tablet firmware for the Skype VOIP service. Here is the url to
