For software RAID, linux doesn't really care where the devices are
located, so that will really only come into consideration in terms of the
performance you seek. Having them on separate controllers should be just
fine.
Personally I don't much like RAID 0 because it doubles your chances of a
catastrohpic failure, but if you're specifically aiming for the
performance gains that it offers, and don't much care about the
reliability difference, it certainly has its niche.
An alternative is to put them both into LVM instead of RAID 0, which is
more of a concatenation rather than striping, so you don't necessarily get
the same performance gains, but you also have the option of moving the
disks in and out of the volume (assuming you have sufficient free space to
allow that).
