The biggest application I would like to run on a Linux box is
a freedb server. There is a Windows application called
audio-grabber that will rip CD's, the main function of this PC
is to be a flight simulator so I eliminated all virus
protection and firewalls so that the flight simulator would
run as fast as possible. I got this to work on a Fedora
Core 4(?) system but the motherboard popped caps all over the
place. After I replaced the motherboard, I decided I'd try
Kubuntu, very pretty but I couldn't get freedb to serve up the
info, everything seems to be running, but no go.

Right now, I'm typing this to you guys on a MacBook Pro, it
works. This isn't a religion for me, I really wanted to use
Linux, I have Fedora Core 4 on a ThinkPad but am planning on
giving that to girlfriend (she will want to install Windows XP,
yeeech, she refuses to use anything other than Word Perfect).
