I had a love/hate relationship with Red Carpet. I loved it when I freshly
installed Redhat 7.2. I installed the Ximian Desktop...used Red Carpet. It
was fantastic.

Until I realized Red Carpet replaced many Redhat RPMs with their own
branded RPMs. My system got out of sync with the Redhat updates and,
worse, broke dependencies (XFree86-ximian is not the same as XFree86).

Luckily, this was on my desktop and not the servers I was managing.

Good idea. Bad implementation.
