The odd thing is that I once did it, on the same machine
and also with Knoppix, the other way around (though I disremember
how; probably also with QTParted).

The guy who had built the machine, and had installed both
XP and FCwhatever on it for me, had given them roughly equal
space. Before I got much on it, I decided to try shifting a bunch
of space away from XP to FC -- and got away with it.

But that was long since, and I don't want to endanger my
install of F7 needlessly. In fact, what I am thinking of doing is
to get out the F7 DVD again, and call it an upgrade again -- this
time from F7 to F7 instead of FC6 to F7 -- only this time telling
it to use the whole drive, not just the linux part.

That should work, shouldn't it? I.e., hose XP, but give
me the use of the whole drive. There isn't much there that I
neither use nor want to risk doing without (such as ZoneAlarm,
Privoxy, and its anti-virus, etc.)
