[Novalug] Wireless prob. Oversubscribed cable modem feed? Clashes on same freq? Or other?

Another alternative that works - although you lose the flexibility of
walking anyplace with the laptop is Powerline. I've got my house set up
that way and all I need to do is move an adapter to another room. I'm
primarily using first generation equipment so my speed is roughly 11MBS.

  The cable modem is in the family room, my office is in the den and
it's been that way for years. Not the world's fastest but better than
no connection.

  As noted, wireless phones and other access points, but also
microwaves.

 dining room, twelve. 12 networks! And we hammer each other
 constantly. I lose connectivity a half dozen times/day at minimum.

 I see three options:
 a) Allow some (more, already have 2) of these people to connect up
 through my AP and ask them to shut down theirs;
 b) Switch my equipment over to European frequencies;
 c) Metal-infused paint;

 Some of these are more/less feasible, but they're all looking better
 and better...
