(i don't usually reply to my own postings, but wanted
to add this)
- ran across a pleasant surprise yesterday... after
purchasing a new Sony DSC-S700 digital camera, i stuck
the Sony install CD-ROM into my Ubuntu 6.10 notebook,
clicked on the install.exe icon, and Wine took over...
- ran through the install, then used wine to run the
Sony editing software... my camera was detected and
software imported my photos... i was also able to
organize, edit, export, and slideshow my pics...
- in other words, a perfectly functioning app!
- of course, the fact that i won't use it is another
matter (there are better Linux digicam clients)...
:-)
